Chilliwack Aid Response Team (C.A.R.T.)
The Chilliwack Aid Response Team is a group of Chilliwack individuals working to respond in a practical way to tsunami-affected families in Sri Lanka. The government of Sri Lanka has allotted 12 acres of land to establish a community with 100 houses in the village of Kirihandeniya Watta, District of Matara. With the endorsement of the Mayor and the City of Chilliwack, this group formed a partnership with Global Aid Network and committed to rebuilding 55 new homes to replace those lost in the tsunami. Global Aid Network (GAiN) has agreed to be responsible for the funding of the other 45 homes.
The vision of the Chilliwack Aid Response Team is based on the belief that it is our capacity as a community to make a difference. Success is based on our joing together as individuals, families, schools, churches, and businesses to contribute to this initiative. Your support in this project is critical to helping families rebuild their shattered lives and facilitating hope and security for the future.
